There are lots of two generation dog families, but
not many have three successful generations.
The Blackburn’s are the exception. Above
you see Ellen with her daughter Joanne and
her granddaughter Heather. They are the best!
then. She made up her first champion at 15 years of age,
started judging when she was 15 and judged her first
championship show at 21. She was one of the youngest
championship judges of all time. The friendship between the
Wilbergs and Blackburns started with Dachshund and Sigurd
was a big admirer of Joanne and her handling skills.
When Sigurd was planning to import the famous Pointer Sh Ch
Nz & Aust Ch Chesterhope Lets Be Serious At Kanix he asked
Joanne to handle him and the world has never ben the same
after that. Breeze and Joanne had tremendous success and
Joanne once again proved that she was the best.
Our interest in Pointers grew and more handlers were needed
and Joanne’s daughter Heather was not difficult to ask. She
was born in 1989 and she also grew up in a dog basket.
Heather was trained in the dog game from an early age. She
learned from her mother and grandmother and is today an
excellent handler.
Joanne and Heather are now partners in Kanix Pointers and our
future lies in their hands.
The Blackburn family has been exceptionally successful, having
made up 50 Champions and won 252 CCs. With this record, they
are among the top kennels in the UK.
